Antique stores--the perfect place to find that $80 dollar chamber pot to complete your decor. No seriously, I love antique stores. I spent several hours yesterday looking through the antique stores of Carrboro--bet you didn't know Carrboro had that many. On the contrary, there are three good ones in close proximity to each other. The aptly named 'Antiques' is a tiny hole in the wall in between Open Eye Cafe and Neal's Deli. What stood out to me there were the beautiful and affordable sets of Wedgewood china. I was almost drooling over a four piece set of pink and white, two-handled teacups with matching saucers--a mere $24!
Alas, I didn't buy them. In fact, I only spent $8.00 that day! Here's how.

At Club Nova on Main Street, I found a nice classy top by Max Studio for $2 (probably a Walmart brand but who cares) and another Joanne Harris book--Chocolat--for 25 cents. I found out that the credit minimum is $3 so my friend Andrea treated me--I paid for her YoPo several days before. Sweet. Spent so far? $0.
It was almost by chance that we came across The Trading Post. The afternoon was getting on and the heat was

getting to be too much for both of us so we stopped for water at Open Eye. The Trading Post was conveniently right across the street so I convinced Andrea to go into one more store. After about 5 minutes of browsing, I came across this great, fifties-era lamp--for a mere $15! Obviously I jumped on this find and purchased it, along with a vibrantly colored teacup and saucer. We tested the lamp in the store and found out that the switch was wonky and wouldn't stay on--momentary despair. I guess that's life sometimes...But anyways, he gave it to me for free and I found out, after getting it home that I could position the switch just so and it would stay on!
All in all, A good, profitable day.

Here's the cup and saucer.

Here's the saucer alone with a delicious peanut butter, nutella cookie.
